STAFF MEMBERS

ASHLEY PHLIPOT
Executive Director

Ashley P. is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the site. She works closely with the staff, the Fort Meigs Association Board of Directors and the Ohio History Connection to further fulfill the site’s mission.

Background:
  • B.A. Theatre with History Minor, Heidelberg University, 2008
  • Employed at Fort Meigs since January 2014
  • Held Historical Interpreter position at the site from 2008-2009
  • Currently pursuing a M.A. in History at Bowling Green State University

JOHN THOMPSON
Manager of Programs

John creates and manages our programming and special events. He can also be found in period attire, working with interpretive staff to give musket and cannon demonstrations and interacting with visitors.

  • Employed at Fort Meigs since March 2018

ASHLEY DUKESHIRE
Visitor Service Representative

Ashley D. runs the Front Desk and the Museum Store. She is a welcoming face for visitors to Fort Meigs.

Background:
  • Attended the University of Toledo with focus on Fine Art
  • Graduated from Orion and is a licensed Massage Therapist through the Ohio State Medical Board
  • Managed family-owned gift shop in Blissfield, Michigan for 10 years

KATIE NOWAKOWSKI                  Manager of Operations

Katie manages the site’s social media platforms and marketing, as well as numerous public history projects.

Background:
  • M.A. History with a Public History Certificate, Bowling Green State University 2021
  • B.A. History, Bowling Green State University 2019
  • Employed at Fort Meigs since May 2022
