Facility Rentals

Make Your Event One for the History Books

The Fort Meigs Visitor Center and grounds are great to rent for private parties, business meetings, wedding receptions, rehearsal dinners, and much more. Rates are reasonable and having this historic setting as the backdrop to your function is something no one else in the area can provide.

Availability

Fort Meigs rents areas during our normal business hours contingent on availability and non-interference with programming. Functions held outside of our normal operating hours are contingent on staff availability. Fort Meigs does not conduct rentals on Mondays or Tuesdays.

Space

Fort Meigs rents its conference room, classrooms, and other facilities as available. In order to preserve the past, Fort Meigs prohibits renting the historical space inside of the reconstructed fort. The grounds outside the fort are available for rental and ideal for various outdoor events such as weddings, receptions, and company cookouts.

The General Harrison Classrooms are located within our 14,000 square foot Visitor Center and can hold up to 100 people total. Our conference room seats up to 20 people. The grounds outside of the fort are quite large and can accommodate several hundred people depending on the event.

Cost

Fort Meigs rents facilities in four hour blocks. Food and alcohol must be served by a licensed caterer with proof of insurance.** Set up time and tear down time are included in the four hour block.

Six foot rectangular tables and plastic chairs are included in the cost of renting the classrooms. Fort Meigs does not provide linen service for the tables and the tables can not be used for outdoor rentals. Tents for outdoor rentals are the responsibility of the rental party. Tents can be set up one day prior to the event and must be removed no later than 24 hours after the end of the event. Most tent rental companies can also provide tables and chairs with the tent rental.

Entrance into the fort and museum during open hours is available in your rental price for an additional cost. Presentations or tours of the museum by historical interpreters dressed in historic clothing can be arranged for after-hours rentals. These programs are based on the availability of the historical interpreter. Please call for prices.

Steps to Reserve a Date

Please call or email Fort Meigs to see if the date and time you wish to rent the facilities are available. An employee will gather contact information if the date is available and send you a rental agreement.

A deposit, generally 50% of your charges, accompanied by a signed rental agreement reserves the date. Fort Meigs has a flexible policy if you need to cancel or reschedule your event. The remainder of the balance is generally due one month prior to your event and is notated on your rental agreement.

Catering

Meals must be provided by a licensed caterer. Fort Meigs has no exclusive catering agreements. Only licensed caterers are allowed at events. Fort Meigs has a preferred vendors list with excellent area caterers for your food, beverage, and cocktail needs.
